Aquavit London launches aquavit masterclasses this month

Scandinavian restaurant Aquavit London will launch a series of aquavit masterclasses this month, presented by aquavit expert and brand ambassador for Amathus, Jon Anders Fjeldrud.

Housing one of the largest collections of aquavit in the UK, the restaurant will host classes designed to guide guests through the history, distilling process and flavours of this quintessential Scandinavian spirit.

Paired with a small smorgasbord tasting, prepared by Executive Chef Henrik Ritze´n, the masterclasses will showcase an extensive range of aquavits from O.P. Anderson served from the restaurant’s very own bespoke drinks trolley, including Original Klar, 125th Jubilee, Elderflower, Petronella and Ska°ne – also available to cater for those in the main dining room.

The masterclasses will run on: 24 April, 8 May, 5 June, from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

In addition, guests have the option to stay and dine in the main restaurant after the masterclass to enjoy a dinner from Aquavit’s authentic Nordic a` la carte menu.

Dating back to the fifteenth century, Aquavit London’s namesake spirit gets its distinctive flavour from spices and herbs such as cumin, caraway and dill, and is often associated with celebrations such as Christmas, Easter and traditional crayfish dinners throughout the Nordic countries.

This classic Scandinavian tipple is served from unique Schnapp Fish decanters, designed by Svenskt Tenn, alongside a creative cocktail list that celebrates classic recipes with a Nordic twist, such as Scandi Mule, Bergen Bitter, Nordfjord and Kalhygge.
