Bateaux Windsor floating restaurant launches

A new floating restaurant has weighed anchor – to give diners spectacular views of one of the UK’s oldest and prettiest towns.

Bateaux London, the leading provider of restaurant cruises on the Thames in the capital, has added to its fleet with a new, sister company; Bateaux Windsor.

And, now residents of – and visitors to – the historic Berkshire town, can dine in luxury, within sight of Windsor Castle, on The Melody.

The glass sided, hand crafted river boat is embarking on scheduled lunch, afternoon tea, Sunday lunch and dinner cruises every weekend and can also be hired privately for celebrations and events.

Scheduled cruises last between 75 minutes and two and a half hours and the lunchtime trips feature a three-course meal and an audio sightseeing commentary, while evening diners enjoy five courses.

With uninterrupted views of one of the prettiest stretches of the Thames and freshly prepared, seasonal dishes, created by Bateaux London’s award-winning chefs, The Melody looks set to become a key tourist attraction and addition to Windsor’s dining scene.

Samantha Hart, director of sales and marketing, said: “Melody is giving visitors old and new the chance to view this pretty and historic town from an entirely new perspective – from the river.

“And not only can they enjoy picturesque scenery throughout their cruise but they can do so while sampling superbly cooked food created by our highly experienced chefs.

“We launched Bateaux Windsor at the beginning of April and have been overwhelmed by the interest from tourists and residents alike,” she added.

“The feedback has been fantastic and we look forward to being a key contributor to the area’s restaurant scene and to its tourism sector.”
