Independents by Sodexo wins £2.4m a year Clifton College deal

Independents by Sodexo has been awarded a £2.4m a year contract to provide catering and hospitality services at Clifton College, Bristol, one of the UK’s leading independent public boarding schools which offers teaching for boarders and day pupils in a coeducational environment.

The contract is due to commence on 1 July 2017 and will cover pupil, staff, hospitality and event catering.

The new catering service from Sodexo will provide pupils and staff with a wide range of dishes with an emphasis on fresh, nutritious and seasonal, using its ‘fresh food from scratch’ concept.

The College was first established in 1862 and now educates over 1,100 pupils aged between 2 and 18 years. Sodexo will therefore be providing over 2,000 meals a day, in addition to catering and hospitality for the school’s commercial events.

Jeremy Alderton, Managing Director of Independents by Sodexo, said: “Independents by Sodexo is delighted to begin a new partnership with Clifton College. We are looking forward to establishing a strong relationship with the team and are committed to providing students and the wider school community with creative, fresh food, and excellent service.”

Dr Tim Greene, Headmaster at Clifton College, said: “After looking at a range of school meal providers, we chose to select Sodexo due to their proven track record in providing children with healthy school meals. We were impressed with their creative yet healthy menus and are very much looking forward to working with them.”
