Trishna announces summer collaboration with Sipsmith

Michelin-starred Indian restaurant Trishna, in the heart of Marylebone, has announced a three-month summer collaboration with award-winning distillery Sipsmith London, starting on 19 June. The collaboration will see the launch of an al fresco summer terrace and bespoke gin cocktail menu.

The Sipsmith Summer Terrace at Trishna, open daily for walk-ins, will offer a specially crafted menu of Sipsmith gin cocktails to enjoy al fresco. Created by JKS Restaurants’ Group Bar Manager James Stevenson, the cocktails are inspired by India’s long heritage with gin and combine quintessentially British summer classics with the traditional flavours and roadside refreshments enjoyed across India.

Cocktails will include the Trishna Fruit Cup made with Sipsmith London Cup, ginger and verbena Nimbu Pani (a salted lemonade) and seasonal fruits, and the Pink Gin Gola consisting of turmeric-infused Sipsmith London Dry gin, mint, lime, tonic and pink peppercorn bitters. The Kesar Pista Fizz combines Sipsmith London Cup and prosecco with a house-made pistachio and saffron lemon sorbet.

The Sipsmith gin cocktail menu will also be available to order inside the restaurant and has been designed to pair perfectly with Trishna’s south-west Indian coastal inspired dishes. Trishna offers both five and seven-course tasting menus as well as a six-course seafood menu featuring classics such as Hariyali bream, green chilli, coriander, smoked tomato kachumber, and Nandu varuval soft shell crab, green chilli, white crab, tomato chutney. A Lunch Bites menu is also available daily offering the choice of two to five dishes, from £20.

To celebrate the collaboration, Trishna will host a one-off ‘A passage to gIn-dia’ dinner with Sipsmith on Tuesday 11 July. James will be joined by Ginthusiast Alex Darley of Sipsmith for the interactive evening, which will begin with a tutored tasting of Sipsmith’s signature serves including Sloe Gin, Sipping Vodka and Sipsmith VJOP.

This will be followed by a four-course menu, each of which will be paired with an Indian botanical Sipsmith cocktail which James and Alex will introduce to guests, taking them on a journey through India’s history with gin, the spirit’s production and it’s natural relationship with the country’s cuisine.
