BBPA supports Beer Day Britain today

Today's Beer Day Britain, the day to celebrate the nation’s favourite drink, beer, the British Beer & Pub Association (BBPA) is once again championing it.

During today, beer lovers will be gathering in pubs across the country to raise a glass to beer, and on social media using #cheerstobeer.

Beer Day Britain is now in its third year, and looks to champion the varied styles of beer available, many of which, like India Pale Ale and Stout, were first produced here in Britain. The BBPA is encouraging beer lovers to use Beer Day Britain to show how proud they are of both Britain’s beer and pubs.

The BBPA has also welcomed a digital toolkit from There’s A Beer For That (TABFT), produced with the help of Beer Day Britain champion and beer sommelier Jane Peyton.

The toolkit is now available to download from the Beer Day Britain website, http://www.beerdaybritain.co.uk/, and includes two newly created videos, social media post content, fact sheets, images and logos that everyone in the industry is invited to use on their own digital and social media channels.

In addition, TABFT have sent out a physical point-of-sale kit, designed to encourage engagement with the event in pubs, to over 1,500 pubs up and down the country, and have setup a Thunderclap for 7pm on Beer Day Britain, using the #cheerstobeer hashtag.

Brigid Simmonds, Chief Executive, British Beer & Pub Association, commented, “Beer Day Britain is now in its third year, and the two previous occasions have been a wonderful celebration of our great national drink involving hundreds of thousands of people across the country in the great British pub.

“I look forward to once again showing my pride in our beer and pubs by saying ‘Cheers to Beer!’ today.”
