New Pret A Manger to open in Sheffield next week

Maria Pak and her team of 20 are due to open the doors to Sheffield’s newest Pret A Manger next Thursday 9 November.

The shop, located at Coles Corner on Fargate, will feature a comfortable seating area for around 130 customers, free Wifi, and a filtered water tap where customers can hydrate for free. Pret’s menu of sandwiches, baguettes, salads, snacks, hot food and sweet treats will be on offer and all fresh items will be made daily in the shop kitchen by Leaders Kasper and Ewelina and their team.

The shop’s Barista, Adrian (along with the Front of House team), will be on hand to serve a range of organic teas, coffees and hot chocolates, alongside freshly made smoothies and frappes.

Maria Pak, General Manager at the new shop, has been a part of Pret for 9 years, most recently leading the shop at Parliament Street, York. She said, “We are so excited to open the doors to Sheffield’s second Pret. Our fantastic new team are trained and ready, and we can’t wait to meet our new customers.

“To celebrate the opening, and help our customers meet the team, we’re going to open the shop for a sneak peek next Wednesday 8th November from 12pm. The first 400 customers through the door will receive lunch on us!”

The lunch will consist of a salad, sandwich, baguette or wrap, a dessert or snack, a cold drink and a barista prepared hot drink.

As part of Pret’s commitment to help alleviate the pressures of homelessness in the UK, the Fargate shop is on the look-out for local charities to donate unsold food to at the end of each day. Over the past year, Pret’s national scheme has distributed over three million food items to hostels and shelters across the UK.

Juanita Cracchiolo, Pret Foundation Trust Project Manager, commented, “We’re currently looking for local charities to support through food donations each night, and would love to be contacted by any organisations who feel they could benefit from collecting fresh, unsold food from us in the evenings.”
