Three huge next gen food halls to open this year with more planned

Try Market Halls Ltd is set to launch three next generation food halls, named Market Hall, in London's Fulham Broadway Station, Terminus Place Victoria and Oxford Street. Three further London openings and various regional launches are expected to be announced by the end of 2018.

The various spaces being transformed will feature multiple restaurants, communal dining spaces, bars and, in some cases, individual food and drink places too. Each one will have its own identity, engaging with neighbourhood restaurants and chefs and bringing in new talent as well as working with established restaurateurs. Crockery and glassware will be used rather than disposable cups and plates, in a bid to be more environmentally friendly.

The first Market Hall is set to open this spring in the entrance hall of the Edwardian Underground station at Fulham Broadway. The 180-set venue will feature ten kitchens and a bar.

Come the summer, the second Market Hall will open in Victoria’s Terminus Place. The three-storey market hall will offer fourteen kitchens, three bars and have seating for 300 diners.

The flagship Market Hall West End will open this autumn in part of the former BHS building on Oxford Street. This has been billed as the largest food hall in the UK', and will feature a mix of local producers, retailers, restaurants, street food vendors, four bars, event spaces and a demo kitchen.

Try Market Halls is headed up by CEO Andy Lewis-Pratt, along with Simon Anderson, the restaurateur behind London’s Pitt Cue Co, as Director of Restaurants and Operations.

International law firm Taylor Wessing advised Try Market Halls. Lewis-Pratt said, “Over the last 12 months, we have been visiting various sites around the world to ensure our food halls are the best and most exciting the country has ever seen. Taylor Wessing has provided crucial and invaluable support throughout this journey and the outcome of the deal is a success for both sides.”

These new halls will join other new London food courts, such as Bang Bang Oriental, which opened last summer in NW9, the revamped Japan Centre in SW1, that opened last September, and The Kitchens at Spitalfields, that launched last October.
