Wadworth to kick off Six Nations with Dirty Rucker ale

Thanks to its continued popularity, Wadworth, the Devizes-based pub operator and family brewer, is once again brewing its Dirty Rucker seasonal ale to celebrate the Six Nations.

Returning this year with a bold new pump clip for increased stand out on the bar, Wadworth is also offering an alternative colourscheme for the clip to appeal to stockists and rugby fans in Wales.

The beer will be available to buy from pubs across the Wadworth estate, and in national accounts, throughout February and March. Brewed using Crystal, Pale Ale and Munich malts, with roasted barley for extra flavour, it has an ABV of 3.9%. To add bitterness and aroma Wadworth also uses a mixture of fine hops; Goldings, Challenger, Cascade and Willamette.

Dirty Rucker is a bold English ale, fruity on the palate with a malty sweetness that leads to a peppery note for a smooth finish. It is the perfect ale to cheer on the England rugby team and tastes great with English hot pot, Irish stew, nutty cheeses, roast beef, meat pies and bread & butter pudding.

Andy Weaver, brewer at Wadworth, commented, “Following the success of Dirty Rucker in the past, it was a no brainer to brew it once again to support our squad. We wish the team the best of luck in this years’ Six Nations, we’ll be rooting for them from Wiltshire!”
