Bakkavor continues strong apprenticeship drive

Bakkavor Group, the leading international provider of fresh prepared foods, is set to recruit 26 new apprentices in 2018 as it further develops the skills of enthusiastic individuals who want to embark on a career in the food manufacturing industry.

The scheme has vacancies which are nationwide and span across a variety of functional roles including Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Technical, Processing, Procurement and Chef.

Successful applicants will experience real responsibility from day one, contributing to key business activities and projects, whilst at the same time studying towards a relevant, nationally recognised qualification.

The scheme also focuses on the development of life skills by encouraging apprentices to get involved with local community projects and charity initiatives.

Bakkavor has been running its prestigious apprenticeship scheme for 6 years. There are currently 250 existing employees employed on apprenticeships, highlighting the scheme’s importance to the business.

Pippa Greenslade, HR Director, (pictured) said, “We are focused on attracting the best and brightest young people at Bakkavor and we are extremely proud of our apprenticeship programme. It is a superb way to give young people the chance to gain real world experience and responsibility within a range of environments and we are committed to playing an active role in nurturing young talent in the food industry.”
