Wadworth launches website dedicated to accommodation

Wadworth, the independent family brewer and pub operator, has introduced a dedicated accommodation webpage within its corporate website to feature Wadworth pubs that offer overnight letting accommodation.

The Wadworth estate now has 278 letting rooms across 23 different Wadworth Managed pubs which can now be easily found on the Wadworth web page.

Speaking about the new pub accommodation finder on the Wadworth website, Rupert Bagnall, operations director for managed houses, commented: “We are increasingly seeing more people wanting to stay in pubs rather than chain hotels or more formal hotel accommodation.

'With our investment programme including acquisitions over the last three years, we have developed a great selection of premium quality rooms with the added bonus of the informality and warm welcome you get from the teams in a great pub.

'Now customers can find rooms quickly with the new web page and view all of our west country pubs with accommodation in one place.”

Wadworth’s most recent pub acquisition with rooms is the Bird in Hand in Knowl Hill near Reading which was acquired from private owners in 2017. The pub and its 23 rooms were subsequently fully refurbished.

Wadworth is also investing in its current portfolio of pubs and recently added two en-suite bedrooms at the ancient George Inn in historic Lacock and three high quality rooms at town centre pub, the Kings Arms in Melksham.

Including acquisitions of pubs with rooms, £9m has been invested by Wadworth on upgrading rooms within the pub estate over the last two years.

Adding Bagnall said, “We have 33% more rooms in our managed house estate than we had two years ago. We see rooms as a real opportunity for our business. It’s about creating high quality rooms in an informal environment but providing customers with a really great pub experience alongside this.”
