Bill’s to celebrate Earth Hour as part of Green Mission

Bill’s will be celebrating Earth Hour by switching off the internal lights across all 80 Bill’s restaurants at 8:30pm on Saturday 24 March.

Customers will be able to enjoy Bill’s signature dishes and warm welcome during an atmospheric dinner by candlelight as they support WWF’s worldwide movement to protect the planet.

The activity, which follows the removal of all plastic straws from its restaurants in February, is part of Bill’s Green Mission, through which the restaurant is committed to running the business efficiently with the lowest environmental impact.

CEO Duncan Garood said, “It is really important to us that all of our restaurants got involved in Earth Hour. We’ve been working hard to make our business as sustainable as possible. Our staff and customers have helped to drive this change so it’s great to be able to offer diners a unique experience at the same time.”

Earth Hour began as a symbolic event in Sydney in 2007 and has since spread around the world with 10.4 million people in Britain joining the movement in 2017 to shine a light on climate issues.
