BrewDog opens first Reading bar

Independent craft brewer, BrewDog is expanding its UK bar fleet, with the launch of its first bar in Reading. Located in Castle Street, this latest bar is the Scottish brewer’s third new bar launch of 2018.

The new bar has 20 beer taps, serving BrewDog’s headliner beers including Punk IPA, Dead Pony Club and 5 AM Saint, as well as a wide selection of guest draft beers.

In addition, the bar is stocked with bottled and canned beer from around the world in two open air beer fridges, for beer fans to enjoy in the bar, or take away. All its bar staff is Cicerone trained, on hand to offer advice about the beer selection.

BrewDog’s classic menu of burgers and wings is available, with a brunch option available at weekends.

James Watt, co-founder of BrewDog commented, “Beer fans of Reading have been crying out for a BrewDog bar for too long now, so it is awesome we have finally set up home in Berkshire. The craft beer scene has been exploding over the past few years, and we want our presence to help accelerate that growth in Reading, making the town an epicentre of amazing craft beer.”

All Equity Punks receive a discount in the new Reading bar, as they do in all of BrewDog’s bars and its online shop.

Funds raised through BrewDog’s record breaking crowdfunding initiative, Equity for Punks, support BrewDog’s global expansion, including its bar division and breweries.

In October 2017, the brewery launched its fifth round of Equity for Punks hitting its target of £10m within three months. Due to its unprecedented success, the brewery extended the deadline for investment until October 2018, giving more people the opportunity to invest.

Equity for Punks V has so far raised over £13m from more than 29,000 investors across Europe.
