Beef in a dessert?! In honour of one of the all-time classic sitcom scenes, Deliveroo is launching Green’s Desserts, serving up a slice of pure comedy, The Meat & Sweet Trifle.
Only hardcore fan of Friends need order. For anyone wanting to taste this classic Friends faux pas, you can order Rachel’s trifle exclusively on Deliveroo from Green’s Desserts.
Priced at £6, the Meat & Sweet comes in a huge recyclable dessert bowl and will serve up-to eight generously - enough to satisfy even the Joey of your friends. Deliveroo crafted the dish to mark the anniversary of the final episode of Friends, which aired on 6th May 2004.
The Deliveroo team didn’t cut any corners when it came to preparing the dish, sticking exactly to the show’s classic recipe. However, bringing it into 2018, Deliveroo has also created a vegetarian version of the dish, swapping out the beef for mince tofu.
Joe Groves at Deliveroo said “With Rachel’s trifle faux pas being one of the most memorable TV moments in Friends, we wanted to pay homage to the show by giving our customers the chance to order it through Deliveroo.
“The Meat & Sweet is surprisingly quite amazing, to quote a wise Italian-American, ‘What's not to like? Custard, good. Jam, good. Meat, GOOD!’”
The dish is set to go-on sale at 9pm on Friday 4th May, the same time as the popular sitcom aired in the UK - and will be available to Deliveroo customers in London while stocks last. However, clever Friends fans can schedule delivery of the sweet and savoury dessert 24 hours in advance.
