Co-op invests £700k in new look Loughborough store


The Co-op is set to serve-up a new-look food store in Barrow upon Soar, Loughborough, following a £700k, six week programme of works, extending the store and creating two new jobs.

The new-look store, in High Street, Barrow upon Soar, re-opens on Friday, 18, May, and includes an in store bakery, alongside an increased focus on fresh, healthy foods, meal ideas, hot food, award winning wines and, essentials.

The store closed last month to embark on a major makeover, with a pop-up shop continuing to serve the community with over 100 lines of everyday essentials.

The store also brings a funding boost locally through the Co-op’s Membership scheme – Members receive a 5% reward on the purchase of own-brand products and services, with the Co-op donating a further 1% to local good causes.

Good causes currently benefitting include: Barrow pre-school playgroup; Girl-Guiding Soar Valley District and, Barrow Community Library.
