IHG opens 30th hotel in Germany

IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) has opened Holiday Inn Munich - Leuchtenbergring, the brand's 30th hotel in Germany.

The 279-room hotel, owned by long-standing partners UBM Development AG (UBM), is conveniently located in the city's attractive east quarter, Haidhausen, making it easily accessible via car or public transport.

With free Wi-Fi, 600 square metres of meeting space and a specially designed courtyard on the third floor, the hotel also features Holiday Inn's signature Open Lobby. The Open Lobby combines the front desk, lobby, restaurant, bar, lounge and business centre into one versatile area. This gives guests flexibility, whether they're looking to eat, relax, work, or have fun in one integrated space.

The opening of the 30th Holiday Inn in Germany marks an important milestone in the brand's history, with the Holiday Inn Brand Family accounting for 85% of IHG's German system size.

IHG's growth in Germany has been unprecedented: in the last four years, IHG has enjoyed record breaking signings with 19 hotels signed in 2017. So far in 2018, a further two hotels have been added to the pipeline - Holiday Inn Express Goeppingen and Holiday Inn Express Munich - Olching, further cementing IHG's position as number 1 in terms of rooms in the German branded market pipeline.

Martin Bowen, IHG's Head of Development - DACH, commented, 'Opening our 30th Holiday Inn in Germany really illustrates the strength of such an iconic brand loved by millions around the world.

'In Germany, domestic travellers are increasingly choosing to stay at mainstream brands, fuelling demand for Holiday Inn which is a strong engine of growth for IHG. Longstanding partners, such as UBM, have been crucial in helping us grow at pace in Germany and we're excited for guests to experience Holiday Inn Munich - Leuchtenbergring in what is a key growth city for our business.'
