ETM to open Redwood site at £1bn redeveloped London Bridge station

Leading London bar and restaurant group, ETM has announced it will open a new venue next year at one of Britain’s busiest stations, London Bridge.

New bar, restaurant and sports lounge, Redwood, will follow the £1bn redevelopment of London Bridge station, which has seen a range of improvements including a huge new concourse, modern facilities, two new entrances on Tooley Street, and 15 fully accessible platforms. It will also see 92,000 sq ft of new retail space and more than 70 retail units – the most ever in a Network Rail station.

The all-day two-storey pub, designed by Russell Sage Studio, is set to be located adjacent to the Shard and has been designed to appeal to local workers and the 47 million people that use the station every year.

On the ground floor, the 2,000 sq ft pub will be open from breakfast through to dinner with a versatile British brasserie-style menu. The timber top, statement bar will dispense tank fresh brews from large overhanging copper beer tanks, whilst a large selection of classic wines, signature botanical cocktails and artisan spirits will also be served. Outside, the 54-cover al fresco terrace with heaters, will offer premium grab-and-go from a custom-built service hatch, whilst the mezzanine floor houses a 1,700 sq ft premium sports lounge that will screen the world’s biggest sporting fixtures throughout the day and night.

Ed Martin, co-founder and CEO of ETM, comments: “We’re hugely excited to be bringing Redwood to London Bridge and being part of the exciting redevelopment of one of London’s busiest stations. The opening of our pub, restaurant and sports lounge, Greenwood, in Victoria’s Nova development has been a huge success and proves there’s a huge appetite for experience-led venues that deliver on quality food, drink and sport.”

Openings such as Broadleaf, Aviary, Long Arm Pub & Brewery and Greenwood have firmly established ETM as one of London’s leading hospitality companies. The Group recently secured a £10m funding from HSBC to support its growth plans and the next 12 months will see the independent hospitality group open at least three new venues, including Maple at Westfield next month and Redwood at London Bridge. With a strong pipeline of additional sites in place, ETM plans to expand significantly over the next five years.
