Sodexo Prestige at Hampden Park to host Scotland Vegan Festival

Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events is getting ready to welcome 1,500 people to Scotland’s National Stadium on Saturday 14 July, when it hosts the Scotland Vegan Festival.

Held at Hampden Park for the first time, the Scotland Vegan Festival aims to educate vegans and those interested in learning more about the subject, while giving them the opportunity to try a wide range of vegan products.

Organised by Vegan Events UK, the event will take place between 10:30am – 4:30pm. A key date in the foodie calendar, delegates will be invited to browse 100 stalls showcasing vegan treats from worldwide caterers before taking part in cookery demonstrations, listening to inspirational talks, or participating in a series of interactive workshops. With activities for children running throughout the day, it’s the perfect event for families.

Making the most of the state of the art, flexible event spaces available at Hampden, the Festival will take place across the Nevis, Lomond and Millenium suites. With remarkable views across the stadium, the Millenium suite will offer delegates the chance to sit and enjoy some of the delicious food on offer.

From sampling Greek vegan dishes from the Greek Vegan Deli, through to tasting freshly cooked vegan hotdogs or sipping some SEEDLIP, the world’s first distilled non-alcoholic spirit, there’s no shortage of cuisines available.

Craig Younger, General Manager for Sodexo Sports & Leisure at Hampden Park Stadium, said, “At Hampden Park we have a range of event spaces suitable for any occasion. With a capacity of around 4,000 people across our suites and private boxes, we’re able to tailor our space for conferences, exhibitions, dinners, drinks receptions and more.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming the Scotland Vegan Festival to Glasgow, and hope this will be the start of an ongoing relationship with Vegan Events UK. With plans to launch our own vegan menu later this year, I’m sure the day will also provide some great inspiration.”

Victoria Bryceson, Events Manager for Vegan Events UK, added, “We are so excited about the Scotland Vegan Festival coming to this huge new venue, Hampden Park.

'We want to show non-vegans how incredibly amazing living a vegan lifestyle is and show that it is not only healthy, varied and exciting but that it is also practical, easy and affordable as well.

'We also want to invite existing vegans along to experience our amazing one stop shop for vegan products. We are hugely looking forward to being in Hampden Park with unlimited space, a lovely atmosphere and free parking!”.
