Walmart to use robotics to speed up picking & packing online grocery orders

Asda's parent company, Walmart is partnering with Alert Innovation to bring first-of-its-kind automation, Alphabot, to its supercentre in New Hampshire, USA, to help associates fill online grocery orders faster than ever before.

The current online grocery service is already a huge hit with customers, and Alphabot will help by working behind the scenes to make the process easier by bringing items to associates.

For associates, that means less time walking the aisles looking for products and more time ensuring customers are enjoying the best in fresh produce, meats, and groceries.

The Alphabot system, developed especially for Walmart, is being installed as a part of the store’s grand reopening. A 20,000 sq ft extension connected to the store houses the new system and will serve as a dedicated grocery pickup point with drive-thru lanes for customers.
