Brat awarded Michelin star just 6 months after opening

Brat, the restaurant from Tomos Parry, on London's Redchurch Street has been awarded its first Michelin star just six months after opening.

Originally a colloquial term for ‘turbot’, BRAT draws on Parry’s Welsh heritage and influence from the Basque region of Northern Spain, with a menu favouring seasonal British produce, cooked on an open fire wood grill.

Parry said, “When you open a restaurant you expect it to grow over time so I’m completely humbled by the recognition of Michelin today, just six months after opening.

'More than anything, it makes me happy to know that people are enjoying the way we cook and to have the acknowledgement that we’re heading in the right direction.

'I’m so proud of the whole team for their hard work, in what has been a complete whirlwind and very intense few months.”
