Britannia Hotels Double Acquisition

Hotel group Britannia Hotels has bought two Scarborough hotels out of administration for an unknown price however, it is thought to be one of the largest hotel transactions in the North of England in recent years. The two hotels acquired are the 118-bedtoom Royal hotel and the two-star 70-bedroom Clifton hotel, both previously owned by English Rose Hotels Scarborough before they entered administration with Duff and Phelps last August.
Owned by Alex Langsam, the group now currently operates 39 hotels nationwide with a total of 7,000 bedrooms making it one of the largest privately owned hotel groups in the UK. The group now owns three hotels in Scarborough as it already owns the 382-bedroom Grand Hotel.
