Deliveroo enters new exclusive deals with Azzuri, PizzaExpress & Wagamama

Deliveroo, the leading food delivery company, has announced the latest in a series of exclusive partnerships; as PizzaExpress and Barburrito leave other food delivery services to become exclusive with Deliveroo, while Wagamama and Azzuri extended their exclusive deals with the company.

The deals cements Deliveroo's reputation for the having best selection of restaurants of any food delivery company, as it also revealed it now works with 17,000 restaurants and takeaways in the UK.

PizzaExpress, in partnership with Deliveroo, currently serve nearly 25,000 pizzas every week to customers at home and sees significant potential to grow this channel. They have already invested in better packaging and kitchen equipment in order to improve the customer experience, and will continue to look at ways of innovating in order to delight consumers who want restaurant-quality food at home.

The increased number of restaurants on the platform combined with other changes such as Deliveroo’s Marketplace plus service mean the average Deliveroo customer now sees over 100 restaurants to order from, double the number compared to the start of the year.

Deliveroo also remains the home of top brands. Of the top 40 Casual dining and fast food chains in the UK, over 90% are available on Deliveroo and half of those are exclusive to the food delivery platform. Meanwhile the company continues to expand across the UK with the rolling out of its Marketplace plus service across the UK.

Deliveroo’s mission is to become the ‘definitive food company’. Earlier this year it was announced as the fastest growing company in Europe and the company’s accounts for the last year revealed 116% increase in revenues.

Dan Warne, Deliveroo UK and Ireland managing director said, “Deliveroo is driven by a passion for food and is proud to bring customers amazing meals form the restaurants and takeaways we know our customers want to order from.

'Thanks to our restaurant partners, our fleet of riders and the technology that powers us we are able to deliver more choices and a better service than our competitors. That is why we continue to grow at a phenomenal rate across the UK and that is why more and more restaurants chose to work with us exclusively.”

Zoe Bowley, Managing Director at PizzaExpress, said, “Customers are increasingly opting to enjoy their favourite PizzaExpress pizza at home, and by exclusively partnering with Deliveroo it means that we can serve more customers, more often. We will continue to work closely with Deliveroo in order to give our customers a great delivery experience”

Steve Holmes, CEO of Azzurri Group, said, 'We are delighted to extend our partnership with Deliveroo. Delivery is now a key part of our business and we have ambitions to continue to develop and grow this channel. We are excited about working closely with Deliveroo to help do this.”
