Angelina to open early 2019 combining Japanese & Italian cuisines

Opening in early 2019, Angelina is a family-owned restaurant in London's Dalston, serving a surreal exploration of Japanese and Italian cuisines, cultures and influences.

Whilst Italian and Japanese cuisines may seem worlds apart, at their core they share the very similar values; food is regional, seasonal and created with minimal meddling and the deepest respect.

Owner Joshua Owens-Baigler trained at the River Café before becoming General Manager of Artusi, and more recently at Zest at JW3 and Bevis Marks synagogue in the City.

In the kitchen, chef Robin Beparry, who Owens-Baigler worked with at Bevis Marks, will be joined by Daniele Ceforo, formerly at Bocca di Lupo, Café Murano and Enoteca Turi, and was most recently Head Chef at Zoilo.

The tasting menu will change daily with the option of Italian wine pairing. This will include eight sharing plates, such as Unagi 2 Risotto with Burnt Soy Butter & Dashi, Cavolo Nero, Tonkotsu 4, Egg & Keta Caviar, and Black Sesame & Milk Chocolate Pannacotta.
