Israel’s largest hospitality organisation, Fattal Hotel Group has acquired a prominent site on Adair Street, Manchester, marking s second deal for the group in the city following its recent purchase of the Midland Hotel in October.
Scheduled to be completed in early 2021, the new hotel will be operated by Jurys Inn and Leonardo Hotels UK and Ireland, and will be branded as a Leonardo Hotel. Fattal have retained regeneration specialist Capital&Centric to develop the 110,000sq.ft hotel, which will feature 275 bedrooms, a gym, as well as a bar & restaurant.
Earlier this year, Manchester City Council approved a Strategic Regeneration Framework (SRF) for the area around the proposed hotel, with the intention of transforming the corner of the city into a new urban quarter, providing a mix of commercial and residential uses.
In October, Fattal announced that it had partnered in the flagship acquisition of the iconic Midland Hotel in Manchester, and the Four Star Grand Harbour Hotel in Southampton, which have both joined the expanding portfolio of Leonardo Hotels in the UK.
It also revealed plans to invest £32m in the redevelopment and expansion of the existing Jurys Inn Edinburgh hotel and its neighbouring site. The investment includes proposed plans to convert an adjacent listed building into a new 131-room NYX Hotel by Leonardo Hotels, and the development of 31 new residential units on the 1.2 acre Jeffrey Street site.

The new hotel on Adair Street is part of the Fattal Group’s continued expansion in the UK, managed through Jurys Inn and Leonardo Hotels UK and Ireland, which currently operate 45 hotels (36 under the Jurys Inn brand and nine hotels under the Leonardo brand) – 40 of which are in the UK, four in Ireland, and one in Prague.
Fattal operates 190-plus hotels in 17 countries with more than 36,000 rooms in over 100 destinations.
