Wadworth’s Six Nations ale, Dirty Rucker is back for the 4th year following calls for its return. The amber English ale is the most popular seasonal beer brewed by Wadworth in Devizes and the beer is available throughout February and March to support the team in the Six Nations Rugby tournament.
The Wiltshire-based independent family brewer and regional pub operator brews over 16 ales different per year. Dirty Rucker is one, famous for its fruity flavour and malty sweetness and peppery finish. Brewed using Crystal, Pale Ale and Munich malts with added roasted barley for extra flavour the brewers at Wadworth add bitterness and aroma using a mixture of fine hops; Goldings, Challenger, Cascade and Willamette.
Speaking about its return, commercial director for Wadworth, Jonathan Thomas said, “Dirty Rucker is a real winner for us as we’ve seen it grow in popularity year on year. It’s not only a favourite in our own Wadworth pubs, it can be seen on the bar in many pubs up and down the country”
Dirty Rucker at an abv of 3.9% is a session beer that also goes great with food such as English hot pot, Irish stew, nutty cheese (i.e. Jarlsberg), roast beef, meat pies and bread & butter pudding making it a real winner during February and March and the winter warming dishes.
