Rochelle Canteen at The ICA launches Pie & Pint nights

From 17 February, Margot Henderson and Melanie Arnold will launch a series of Sunday evening ‘Pie and a Pint’ nights at Rochelle Canteen at The ICA (Institute of Contemporary Arts) on The Mall in London.

The weekly ode to the humble dish will allow diners to dive into a pie accompanied by a pint of Peroni or Guinness or a glass of house wine every Sunday for just £10.

From the unreservedly rural pheasant, prune and trotter, ranging to the more familiar chicken, leek and wild mushroom, each of Henderson and head chef Ben Coombs’ weekly changing pies will be topped with a crisp layer of Rochelle’s famed suet or puff pastry to quell those Sunday night blues.

For those looking to prolong the weekend a little longer, Fin Spiteri’s cocktail menu which includes classic Negronis, the Hanky Panky and the Doctor Henderson will be on hand, whilst puddings such as strawberry ripple ice cream, chocolate and salt caramel tart or rhubarb and custard will be fittingly nostalgic.

Henderson (pictured with Coombs) said, “A good pie and a pint has been the cornerstone of many a Henderson weekend and is really what Sundays are all about – they’re comforting, they’re nostalgic, they bring good friends together and most often a result of slow gentle cooking which is what we do best here at Rochelle.”
