Deliveroo claims it can save restaurants £15k per year

Deliveroo has today set out how it can save an average restaurant up to £15k a year by helping reduce the day-to-day costs of running a restaurant business.

The savings, available through a dedicated perks programme, are possible because Deliveroo is able to leverage its size and the size of its restaurant network to secure better deals on a range of items, from purchasing kitchenware to installing customer wifi.

Over 1200 partners including TGI Fridays, Barburrito and Busaba have signed up to the perks package as they look to reduce their overheads. Many of these everyday costs have risen significantly over the past few years - for example, the combined business rates payable by London restaurants rose by 33% after the most recent revaluation while food price inflation hit a six-year high in March following last year’s extreme weather.

The perks programme - exclusive to Deliveroo’s restaurant partners - offers over 30 saving opportunities including:

> Discounts on attracting and recruiting both temporary and full time staff.
> Free access to a staff benefits platform plus reduced rates on training technologies to improve staff satisfaction and drive retention.
> Savings for purchasing everyday items like kitchenware, equipment and crockery
> Discounted rates on energy brokerage to help cut utility bills and savings on waste management
> Money off Food Safety and Health & Safety training for restaurants and their staff
> Discounted menu printing and merchandising
> Reduced rates for customer insights technology that help drive sales
> Discounts for installing customer wifi and business 4G services
> Free wireless tabletop charging
> Reduced card transaction fee rates and integration with banking apps

The scheme is part of Deliveroo’s efforts to be seen as a true strategic partner for restaurants where it offers them more than just delivery sales. The platform is committed to driving more revenue through both delivery and in-house sales for its restaurant partners. Deliveroo recently announced its restaurant makeover project and is set to announce further schemes that will support and grow the restaurant industry in the long term.
