First glimpse of Cumbrian Holiday Inn Express

The countdown to the opening of Barrow in Furness’s newest hotel continued with the unveiling of its first bedroom, under the watchful eye of the town’s Mayor.

Councillor Kevin Hamilton joined Holiday Inn Express Barrow in Furness General Manager, Mark Winter, and Mark Ashall of the hotel’s owner Ashall Projects, to view the newly-created sample room.

The sample room showcases exactly what guests can expect when the 127-bedroom property opens its doors this December.

Made up as a twin room, it is designed to Holiday Inn Express’s Next Generation specification, aimed at meeting the needs of today’s ‘smart travellers’. It features a pillow menu, Chromecast on the in-room television and high speed wi-fi, as well as coffee-making facilities.

Councillor Kevin Hamilton, Mayor of Barrow in Furness, said: “I am delighted to have been invited to view the very first completed bedroom for the much-anticipated Holiday Inn Express Barrow in Furness.

“From what I have seen, guests can expect to enjoy all the comforts they need when travelling, as well as absolutely first class service. Not only is the new hotel and restaurant creating jobs for local people, it could also encourage further activity and development in the surrounding area.”

Mark Winter, General Manager of Holiday Inn Express Barrow in Furness, said: “We’re thrilled to have unveiled the hotel’s first completed bedroom, giving just a glimpse of the contemporary, modern facilities our guests can expect. This signals another major step in the journey towards opening later in the year.

“It was an honour to welcome Councillor Hamilton to be the first person in the local area to see the sample room, and we’re delighted that he was able to take the time to join us.”

Located in the heart of Barrow in Furness, just 30 minutes from the Lake District, the property will offer the perfect destination for business and leisure visitors to the city.

Holiday Inn Express Barrow in Furness will be operated by RBH, the UK’s leading independent hotel management company, and is being developed by Ashall Projects Ltd.
