Greene King pub installs giant rugby ball pit to launch Six Nations

Greene King, the UK’s leading pub company and brewer, has launched the ultimate rugby viewing experience in one of its Twickenham pubs ahead of the Six Nations – a 12-foot ball pit filled with thousands of rugby balls.

Greene King has installed the UK’s first ‘Rugby Ball Pit’ at The George in Twickenham to kick off the first game of the Six Nations this weekend between Wales and Italy – and will be inviting die-hard rugby fans to come and watch the match whilst submerged in thousands of rugby balls.

Punters will get the chance to dive headfirst into the tournament with exclusive screenings of the games from the comfort of the Rugby Ball Pit, and receive two free pints of Greene King IPA during England matches.

The ultimate rugby viewing experience has been launched at The George to celebrate more than 900 Greene King pubs screening the Six Nations.

Chris Conchie, head of sport at Greene King, said, “Everyone loves the atmosphere of watching sport in the pub – there’s nothing better than getting together with mates and enjoying the game.

“To celebrate the Six Nations, we wanted to create the ultimate viewing experience for rugby fans by launching the first ever Rugby Ball Pit. It’s the perfect place to dive in, throw around a few rugby balls, and enjoy a pint of IPA whilst catching up on the latest games.

“If you fancy giving it a ‘try’ for yourself, why not ‘scrum’ down to The George this weekend and experience the most fun rugby screening you’ll ever experience. We guarantee you’ll have a ball!”

The Rugby Ball Pit is open for the next two weeks, so rugby fans will need to be quick if they want to check it out for themselves. To book a slot, they can visit the Greene King website: https://www.greeneking-pubs.co.uk/pubs/middlesex/george/rugby-ball-pit/.

Greene King will be screening the Six Nations in more than 900 pubs across the country.
