Berber launches DIY BBQ boxes today

Today, Josh Katz and Mattia Bianchi, founders of Berber & Q Grill House and Berber & Q Shawarma Bar will launch a selection of DIY BBQ boxes packed with classic Berber & Q dishes. Designed for those feeding a crowd, dishes from the box can be finished on either the BBQ in true Berber style or in the oven.

Available to order via the Berber and Q website, the team have curated five boxes, built around classic menu staples from the restaurants. Each starts with a selection of ready to eat mezze, sharing mains and vegetarian side dishes.

Their Smoked Lamb Box is made with sharing in mind. Designed to feed between 6-8 people, it starts five Mezze dishes including hummus with marinated chickpeas; labneh with nigella seeds; pickles and olives and tahini, zhoug and grated tomato.

The main event is a slow smoked lamb shoulder with sumac onions, pickled chillies, herb salad, harissa and cumin salt along with plenty of pittas to mop up. Sides include cauliflower shawarma - another Berber and Q signature - and chopped Jerusalem salad.

The Family BBQ box serves 4 and features their favourite Middle Eastern meat dishes with Berber & Q’s lemon and saffron marinated chicken served with grilled red onion, kebab sauces and herb salad.

Also included are 8 merguez sausages and harissa. For meat-abstainers, The Vegetarian box for two includes wood roasted Imam Bayildi, a stuffed aubergine dish with cauliflower shawarma and Jerusalem chopped salad.

Finally, the team have collaborated on a limited-edition Berber & Q x Bacardi Box for two. This includes smoked chicken thighs with saffron, orange & Bacardi spiced Rum caramel, garnished with hazelnut dukkha; Aleppo chilli flakes and fresh basil as well as a bottle of Bacardi spiced rum to enjoy with Canada Dry Ginger ale and coca cola.
