Pizza Hut Delivery reveals UK hotspots

Many of Britain’s favourite delivery brands saw huge demand from comfort-craving customers over lockdown in the spring this year. According to Pizza Hut Delivery data, the North West was the region with the largest craving for pizza during lockdown in the spring.

Over the first lockdown period, Pizza Hut Delivery completed over 565,000 more orders compared to the same time period in 2019. Pizza Hut also gave back to the community during this time by donating over 250,000 free meals to NHS healthcare heroes and other charities.

The East Midlands, West Midlands, South West and Wales rounded out the top five hotspots with the highest demand for Hut takeout over the height of lockdown (9 March-7 July 2020).

The nation’s top spenders (based on highest average transactions) in lockdown were:
Mill Hill
Northumberland Heath
Kennington Road
Bracknell
Plymouth

Katy Hankin, Head of Equity for Pizza Hut hotspot Mill Hill, said, “Our employees have stepped up during lockdown, dealing with increased demand, new health and safety measures and donations in a time of immense pressure.

'However, not once did spirit waver – there wasn’t a single day when people weren’t saying they wanted to come and help out with trials or whatever needed doing.

'We feel like we’ve created special moments with the NHS, with food delivery, and making special moments for families.”
