Sainsbury’s opens first new store of 2021 in Twickenham

Sainsbury’s opened its first new store of 2021 today. The new convenience store at Twickenham Station will offer customers fresh and high quality food alongside a variety of other products from 6.30am to 11pm Monday through to Saturday and 7am to 11pm on Sundays.

Twickenham Station Local is 1,500 sq ft and located at the doorstep of one of the community’s newest developments. The store gives residents and visitors convenience and choice including Sainsbury’s food-to-go products, ready meals and pantry essentials. Customers can also grab a freshly squeezed juice or hot coffee alongside their shop with the inclusion of a juice machine and Costa coffee facilities in-store. The new Local store also has an ATM cash machine.

The Sainsbury’s colleagues will play an active role in the local community and support Sainsbury’s nationwide community programmes and charity partners. Last week Sainsbury’s also announced an additional £1 million community fund for stores to donate to charities and other good causes in their local areas. This follows Sainsbury’s ‘Help Brighten a Million Christmases’ campaign that raised £6 million in December for over 800 local charity partners, Comic Relief and FareShare.

Patrick Dunne, Sainsbury’s Property Director said: “We’re very pleased to open this store and are confident customers will enjoy the convenience of it. We have an ambitious property pipeline for the year ahead as we work to ensure we’re in the right locations to best serve our customers. I’m proud of everyone involved in building and refurbishing our stores, especially during these challenging times and we’re excited to now be able to welcome customers through the doors.”

Richard Main, Twickenham Station Local Store Manager said: “The team is really excited to get to work in this new and modern store. This store gives residents and commuters in the local area a convenient and safe place to do their shopping and we look forward to meeting our new customers.”
