Romulo Cafe & Restaurant team to launch new concept in September

From the team that brought us Kensington’s multi-award winning Romulo Cafe´ & Restaurant comes a unique new concept which, like its sibling, brings a touch of Filipino magic to the neighbourhood.

Opening this September, Kasa and Kin ('home' and 'family' in Filipino) combines an all-day restaurant & bar, a bakery and patisserie under one roof, with each element bursting with irresistible southeast Asian flavours.

Kasa and Kin, which will have 90 covers - 70 inside and 20 al fresco, will be delighting guests from 8am until 11pm every day.

With a team overseen by Michelin-starred chef and consultant Pat McDonald (The Savoy, Liberty of London) and Romulo’s executive chef, Jeremy Villanueva, Kasa and Kin will give a contemporary twist to long-held family recipes, whether it’s a freshly baked roll or a full-blown feast.

Locals and visitors alike will initially be enticed in by the aroma of pandesal rolls - which have now achieved legendary status thanks to Romulo.

For an early morning pick up, there's Ensaymada, a soft and sweet pastry dough with butter and grated cheese, and Pandesal Donut filled with purple yam and coconut.

Come lunchtime, diners can choose from a vast selection of salads, sandwiches and hot dishes, or one of Kasa and Kin’s create-your-own Imbento boxes.

For mid-afternoon tea, there's Calamansi Citrus Tart, Pandan Le Che Flan or Chocolate & Banana Bad Boy. When the temperature heats up, diners can cool down with shaved iced milk and a fruit stack.

As evening approaches, the menu and the ambience changes with dimmed lights and the pinoy robata grill prepped for some true food theatre and the best Filipino BBQ sticks this side of Manilla. These are served alongside a carefully curated selection of artisanal cocktails.
