Sixes moves beyond London for third site in Manchester

Sixes - the world’s first immersive cricket experience, combined with exceptional dining and hospitality, is set to launch a new site on 29 August in Manchester.

Founders Calum Mackinnon and Andy Waugh, the sport mad meat masters from London’s Mac & Wild restaurants, are preparing to bring their social cricket and Great British BBQ experience to the city’s Corn Exchange on Cathedral Street.

Styled as a Social Cricket Club, the Manchester Clubhouse will be the pair's first foray outside of the capital, with more locations in the pipeline.

The new Sixes will feature:
Three state-of-the-art nets to hire by the half hour
An exclusive champagne bar – a new addition to the SIXES offering
A stunning 70-seater bar and dining space
An open kitchen with Robata Grill serving mouth-wateringly delicious British BBQ inspired favourites, catering for all tastes

Sixes is an indoor cricketing experience which caters for everyone, all year round, and is available for children's birthday parties and corporate events too.

With an illustrious past cooking on open fire and flame, Mackinnon and Waugh have developed a signature British BBQ-inspired menu for the Sixes experience. Diners can expect the best of British meats, seafood and vegetables - flamed, roasted and grilled on the robata grill - then presented in a relaxed and easy to share format.

To whet the appetite, there are low and slow chicken wings, house-smoked sausages that can be ordered by the half metre, overnight coals sweet potato, next-level vegan burger, whisky-glazed short rib, bubble & squeak pakoras, mac & cheese croquettes, smoked chicken Caesar salad, and the signature Sixes meat volcano.

Guests can enjoy craft ales and fine wines, as well as bespoke cocktails like Eton Mess, Ashes Manhattan, Sixes Fruit Cup and Tea Time…after all, what could be more British than watching the cricket whilst sipping on a cocktail containing actual Yorkshire Tea? There is also an exclusive champagne bar.

Mackinnon said, “This is an incredibly exciting phase in the growth of the Sixes community. The opening of a Clubhouse in Manchester – a vibrant city famous for its love of sport – is the perfect next step, and we can’t wait for the people of Manchester to experience Sixes, explore our delicious menu, cocktails and Champagne Bar!

“Cricket has a rare, unifying quality, capable of connecting people from all backgrounds. Sixes is no different. We’re combining our love of sport with a passion for quality food and drink, creating a welcoming and relaxed experience where anyone can enjoy the game we love.

“From complete beginners to seasoned club regulars, Sixes is proudly inclusive and open to all. Thanks to the state-of-the-art technology from partners, Batfast, the level of challenge can be scaled up or down to suit the batter at the crease, making it as much fun for an 8-year-old’s birthday party as it is for the Lancashire Lightning squad’s night out!'
