McDonalds UK hit by milkshakes & bottled drinks shortage

McDonald's is the latest big brand to face product shortages, seeing the fast food chain has been forced to stop selling milkshakes and bottled drinks.

The shortage, affecting all of the group's 1,250 UK outlets, is blamed on Brexit-related lorry driver shortages and supply chain delays due to the pandemic.

A company spokesperson stated, 'Like most retailers, we are currently experiencing some supply chain issues, impacting the availability of a small number of products. Bottled drinks and milkshakes are temporarily unavailable in restaurants across England, Scotland and Wales.

'We apologise for any inconvenience, and thank our customers for their continued patience. We are working hard to return these items to the menu as soon as possible.'

This follows the news last week that Nandos was forced to close around 50 restaurants due to a shortage of chicken.
