Foodhub marks International Women’s Day with new policy for female staff

Online food delivery business, Foodhub has marked International Women’s Day 2022 by announcing a brand-new policy showing support for its incredible band of female employees.

From today, female workers at the Stoke-on-Trent-based firm will be granted a full day of paid leave to attend medical appointments such as breast screenings and smear tests.

The policy has been launched to mark International Women’s Day on March 8th, which celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women around the world.

Marena Holloway, Chief of Staff at Foodhub, said, “As a female at Foodhub, it’s really encouraging to know that my employer is conscious of women’s issues.

“I’m pleased that this new policy has been initiated and feel reassured that I will be given time and space to step away from work if I need to.

“It’s also a huge relief to know that I won’t be affected financially if I do need to take time off to look after myself.”

Foodhub CEO Ardian Mula threw his support behind the policy, and signed it off this week following a series of constructive conversations with female members of staff.

Mula said, “Foodhub want to positively encourage all employees to take care of their health and to support our female colleagues with annual check-ups (smear tests and mammograms), that often cannot be accommodated outside of working hours.

“That’s why we are proud to launch this new policy, which means that we will now be allowing female employees paid time off to attend.

“We want our female workers to know that they have our full support at all times, particularly when it comes to women’s issues, and hope that this policy helps do that.”

As well as the new policy, Foodhub has also signed the Menopause Workplace Pledge, an official commitment that the company will take positive action to make sure all its staff members going through the menopause are supported.
