Early success for new flagship Chopstix store in Canary Wharf

Leading Asian QSR brand, Chopstix has opened new flagship store in Canary Wharf, London as it continues a steady programme of growth in 2022.

Located at South Colonnade, Canary Wharf DLR Station, the store has had an exceptional first week of trading and has already established itself as one of the top 5 performing stores in the Chopstix estate.

The Chopstix Canary Wharf opening represents a significant statement of intent from the QSR brand in growing its footprint in the capital, having secured such a high-profile location, catering to locals, Underground travellers and the large numbers of workers returning to the office in Canary Wharf.

To support the site launch, the new Canary Wharf team distributed 1,000 portions of Chopstix’s deliciously crispy vegetable spring rolls as well as 100 free medium boxes with 2 toppings to the first diners through the door.

Jon Lake, Managing Director for Chopstix, said, “We have been looking to expand our footprint in the capital for some time and a site in Canary Wharf topped the list, so we’re thrilled we’re finally in a position to open our doors.

'We have invested significant energy in market mapping research and this new location is ideally suited for Chopstix so we’re confident this restaurant will be highly successful. We’re looking forward to serving the residents and workers of Canary Wharf.”

The Canary Wharf opening is the next step in a busy year of growth for the QSR group, having already announced the appointment of the company’s first Franchise Director and a new partnership with leading UK holiday operator, Haven.

In 2022, Chopstix plans to open at least 12 new stores, through a mix of directly owned and operated stores (equity stores), and also in concert with partners, building on its successful and established franchise operation.

Established in Camden Market in 2002 by entrepreneurs Sam Elia and Menashe Sadik, the group, comprises over 80 locations across the UK and Ireland through a mix of company owned and operated locations and franchise sites run through partnerships with the likes of Welcome Break and Applegreen.

In addition, the business also has relationships with delivery partners Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats, as well as several brand extensions including a grocery sauce range, plus further innovations in the pipeline.
