Signature Living to develop Titanic themed hotel in Liverpool

Hotel and serviced apartment operators Signature Living, is set to transform one of Liverpool’s most distinctive and historic buildings into am upmarketed hotel boasting 350-bedrooms.

The Grade-II listed Albion House, on The Strand, was built in the 1890’s later becoming the headquarters of the White Star Line, the operators of the famous Titanic ship. The building will therefore now be transformed and have a ‘Titanic theme’ throughout.

Signauture Living, which is run by husband and wife entrepreneurs Lawrence and Katie Kenwright, acquired the building and announced plans to revamp it as a luxury aparthotel along similar lines to their previous ventures in the city. The now operate an upmarket movie/music themed hotel in Stanley Street and serviced apartments across the city.

The duo now hope to turn 350,000 sq ft of floorspace, which has been largely unused for three decades, into a 350- bedroom aparthotel with a gym, bar and restaurant named Signature Living Hotel – The Home of the Titanic, in honour of its history.

It could take up to 13 weeks for full planning permission but they hope to begin work in October and have the first part of the hotel open by April next year.
