Iceland to open 200 new UK stores, creating hundreds of jobs


Frozen food chain Iceland has announced it is to recruit hundreds of new staff as it begins expand its chain of 800 supermarkets in the UK with 200 new sites across the country in the coming years.

Iceland’s 2012/13 Group results, announced in June, showed underlying sales growth of 3.1% to £2.640 billion and a 0.6% increase in adjusted EBITDA to £226.3 million. During the year the Group also opened a net 33 new Iceland stores, creating 1,250 new jobs.
