Turtle Bay to open its eighth site in Bath

Turtle Bay, the Caribbean restaurant chain led by Las-Iguanas founded Ajith Jayawickrema, is hoping to secure planning permission to transform a former music shop in Bridge Street, Bath, into its eighth outlet.

In June this year Turtle Bay, who currently operate 5 sites, secured additional funding allowing it to continue its expansion plans in the UK. Santander bank invested in the company in May and then Piper Investments announced it would inject £6m into the company in June. Piper is also the bakers of Loungers and founded Pitcher and Piano which is now a brand of Marston’s.

Turtle Bay’s current restaurant are located in Leicester, Bristol, Nottingham, Southampton and Milton Keynes, with Birmingham and Leaminton Spa set to open imminently.

Public consultation on the Bath application ends on 4 November.
