Compass-owned ESS Support Services Worldwiide has won a contract extension to deliver a range of services to HMS Drake - officially now known as Her Majesty's Naval Base (HMNB) Devonport - until 2019.
ESS is a market leading provider of catering, retail and support services in the defence and government sector and has been operating at HMS Drake for the last decade. This extension further strengthens ESS’ relationship with Interserve and the ongoing partnership between these two organisations across a number of contracts.
The five year extension is worth £7.6 million per annum and spans eight different locations across a 15 mile area of Plymouth. This deal will see ESS continue to deliver a wide range of food and support services including; catering, retail, leisure, and hotel services such as, 24 hour portering, laundry, cleaning and refuse management.

HMNB Devonport is one of three operating bases in the UK for the Royal Navy (the others being HMNB Clyde and HMNB Portsmouth). It is the largest naval base in Western Europe and is the sole nuclear repair and refuelling facility for the Royal Navy.
