Major restaurant operator, Gondola Holdings has appointed Goldman Sachs to lead the sale of its largest brand, PizzaExpress.
In October last year, the group sold the Byron burger chain, with 34 outlets, to Hutton Collins for £100m. Gondola currently still operates two other brands, Ask and Zizzi.
PizzaExpress has almost 500 outlets globally and plans to open 200 new sites in fast-growing markets, like China and India, over the next five years.
Private equity group, Cinven, which acquired Gondola Holdings in 2007, had considered selling PizzaExpress last year in the same period that Byron was sold.
