United Biscuits Could Be Sold For £2bn


According to reports, two private equity firms that own the the UK's United Biscuits, Blackstone and PAI Partners, are looking to attract offers of around £2bn for the firm. They will probably be prepared to sell the firm's snacks division and its biscuits unit to different buyers, and the sale is likely to be completed in 2011. The United Biscuits was founded in 1948 and the brands include McVitie's, Jacob's, KP, Mini Cheddars, Carr's, McCoy's, Go Ahead! and McCoy's. The group is emlpoys 7,200 people and has 14 geographical locations in the UK, with a revenue of around £1.26 billion (2009).
