Patisserie Holdings to expand with 20 new sites in 2015

Patisserie Holdings, which operates the Patisserie Valerie, Druckers Vienna Patisserie and Baker & Spice brands, is planning to expand its chain of 148 cafes with 20 new sites in 2015.

The cafe and bakery chain reported a sharp rise in profits following its May flotation. New stores, acquisitions and a doubling of online sales lifted pre-tax profits 37% to £11.3m in the group’s first set of annual results since its initial public offering.

Patisserie Holdings opened 19 new stores this year and acquired a further 23 sandwich shops through the purchase in February of Philpotts.

According to Luke Johnson, executive chairman, online sales doubled in the year to £2.6m, a growth that was driven by store openings and 'click and collect'.
