Bargain Buys to open five new stores in six months

Bargain Buys is to open five new discount stores in the North East over the next six months, with the creation of 100 jobs.

The new firm's 31st store opens in Newcastle tomorrow, creating 20 new jobs, and a branch at Hillstreet Shopping Centre in Middlesbrough also opens its doors on Friday

Bargain Buys was established in 2013 by Chris Edwards and Chris Edwards Jnr, the father and son team behind family-run retail giant Poundworld.

The UK discount sector is now reported to be worth an estimated £10bn pounds as the discounters continue to gain ground on the high street amid troubled times for major supermarkets chains.
