2 Sisters Food Group to axe 300 jobs at Anglesey plant

Boparan Holdings is to shed up to 300 of the 800 jobs at its 2 Sisters Food Group chicken processing plant on Anglesey, as the company plans to cut production at the factory.

The 2 Sisters Food Group bought the factory from Dutch firm Vion in March 2013, and three months later announced it needed to increase production with an extra shift, bringing in an additional 300 posts.

UK Poultry and Fish represents more than half of 2 Sisters’ business by sales. The division employs over 10,000 people working in chilled environment to process poultry and fish products which are then marketed to UK consumers via major retailers.
