PizzaExpress launches latest store at The ICC in Birmingham

A high street pizza chain has launched its latest restaurant at The ICC, Birmingham.

PizzaExpress is returning to Birmingham with live music shows and is introducing its first record store outside of London at The ICC.

The new PizzaExpress at The ICC will feature its first record store outside London, showcasing vinyl and CDs from PX Records artists. Customers can purchase records from UK soul outfit Mamas Gun, keyboardist Matt Johnson (Jamiroquai), and British singer-songwriter Jack Garratt, all recorded at PizzaExpress Live venues.

Located in the city's cultural precinct of arenas, restaurants, bars and attractions, PizzaExpress Birmingham ICC overlooks the city's famed canals, offering a terrace for outdoor dining. The bespoke interior features unique gold artwork by Italian designer Enzo Apicella, who collaborated with founder Peter Boizot on the chain's iconic designs.

PizzaExpress ICC general manager Ilham Tahmazov comments: 'Our pizzeria is a stylish new setting for locals to enjoy their PizzaExpress favourites. In a city renowned for its heavy metal in the late 60s, as we approach our 60th anniversary next year, it only seems right to celebrate our connection to live music, with our very own record store, live music and our delicious menu – all the ingredients for a lunch stop with family, mates or dates or a guaranteed good night out.'

The ICC launch is PizzaExpress's third location in Birmingham, contributing to the local economy by creating 20 new jobs and career opportunities for the community.
