Further to the announcement in June that Galvin Restaurants would be entering the pub sector, the Michelin-starred group has now revealed it will open its first luxury pub in London’s Spitalfields Market as part of its new pub company.
Hop, a Galvin Pub de Luxe, will replace Galvin’s existing Café à Vin concept that currently occupies the new site. Hop will become the flagship London pub for the recently created Galvin Pub Co. A second pub, The Green Man in Chelmsford, is set to open in summer 2016.
Hop will offer fresh unpasteurised Pilsner Urquell Tank Beer, a range of craft beers, and a new menu featuring classic pub dishes. Created by brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin, the menu will include the ‘Luxe Dog’, a range of gourmet hot dogs available to eat in or take-away. Breakfast items, including egg & bacon rolls, toasted muffins and Eccles cakes will also be offered as ‘to-go’ items.
The drinks range will include bottled and canned craft beers, and wines on tap. The bar will showcase four large copper tanks containing unpasteurised Pilsner Urquell, three of which will be positioned above the bar. Pilsner Urquell will be delivering fresh unpasteurised Tank Beer from the brewery in the Czech Republic weekly.
