To celebrate the launch of his new book, Classic Koffman, renowned French chef Pierre Koffmann will host a lunch and supper, exclusively for Literature Festival Patrons and Lucky Onion Club members, on Friday 7 October.
Koffman set the standards for French cuisine in Britain in the early 1970’s working in the kitchen at Le Gavroche before being appointed head chef at The Waterside Inn at Bray where he helped Michel and Albert Roux achieve two Michelin stars.
Opening his own restaurant in 1977, La Tante Claire in Chelsea, London, the kitchen was awarded the maximum three Michelin stars within six years, making him one of only three chefs in the UK to achieve the accolade.
He then went on to open Koffmann’s at The Berkeley Hotel in 2010, but earlier this year announced it would be closing to make way for new plans.
Joining the team at The Lucky Onion to host two intimate events, Koffmann will be cooking a three-course lunch and supper, featuring dishes from his new book.
With only 48 spaces available per sitting, this is a truly intimate event for those who enjoy top quality food and drink cooked by a world-class chef, served family-style over large banquette tables in The Lucky Onion’s beautiful Townhouse, No. 38 The Park.
Guests will be treated to a Q&A with Pierre by Sam Pearman, owner of The Lucky Onion, followed by a book-signing.
