Jupiter Hotels has added three hotels to achieve a new multi branded portfolio, taking its collection of owned and managed properties from 26, up to 29 across the UK.
The new purchases completed last week, will see all three hotels join Jupiter Hotels’ growing portfolio with immediate effect, remaining under the established Mercure and Holiday Inn brands.
Jupiter Hotels purchased Holiday Inn Darlington and Holiday Inn Dumfries in a move which sees them once again achieve a multi branded property portfolio of mid-market hotels in the UK. The four-star 78-bedroom Mercure Sheffield Parkway Hotel (pictured) was also purchased by Jupiter Hotels, taking their Mercure branded compendium up to 27 properties in the UK.
Commenting on the recent purchases, CEO of Jupiter Hotels Shane Harris said, “The purchase of these three new hotels is a very positive move for us, representing an increase of over 10% in the size of our portfolio and establishing us once again as a multi brand leader in the midscale hotel segment.
The recent acquisition provides an accurate prediction of what’s to come over the next few years as we continue to invest in strengthening and growing our portfolio. We are well positioned for future growth which is in keeping with the owners vision for the company and we look forward to continuing to propel the business to new heights through further capital investment and portfolio expansion.”
In October 2015, Jupiter Hotels were acquired by the joint venture between Thailand’s Singha Estate, a public real estate company, and FICO Holding, a subsidiary of FICO Group also based in Thailand. The three new hotel purchases announced this week mark the first stage in a bid for Jupiter Hotels to double their portfolio of hotels within a two-year period, a strategy outlined by the new owners following the acquisition.
