Butcombe Brewery is set extend The Swan Inn in Rowberrow, Winscombe by adding a single-storey extension with six bedrooms. The plans also include six further bedrooms from garage conversions.
The North Somerset pub will also receive a makeover, with a new-look entrance and reception area planned.
The Swan was created from three knocked through miners cottages overlooking the heather strewn beauty of Beacon Batch. The pub has been around since the late 1700's and started life as a cider house.
A spokesman said, “We very much want to keep the pub as a pub serving Butcombe Beer along with great quality pub food. We are building extra car parking spaces for the many walkers who use the pub and we are also providing bike sheds for the many cyclists. We will be dog friendly and will welcome muddy boots.”
